City Floor Supply was proud to host another successful NWFA Intermediate Sand & Finish course from April 29th through May 2nd, 2025, offering flooring professionals the chance to deepen their expertise and sharpen their skills over an intensive three-day training experience. With hands-on instruction, expert-led sessions, and top-of-the-line equipment, this course delivered real-world techniques that contractors can take straight to the jobsite.
The course began with classroom instruction covering the core principles of sanding and finishing. Safety protocols were a major focus, ensuring participants understood how to work efficiently and responsibly. Attendees also got hands-on with sanding equipment, practicing how to operate sanders and refine their edging techniques. Thanks to the support of our vendor partners—Lagler, Bona, and Pallmann—participants trained using some of the best machines in the business.
Day 2: Surface Prep and Detail Work
The second day was all about surface preparation and decorative techniques. Attendees completed their final sanding using multidisc sanders, then explored wire brushing methods to add unique texture and character to the flooring. The day concluded with color application and penetrating sealer prep, laying the groundwork for a flawless finish.
Day 3: Finish Strong
The final day brought it all together. Students applied both water- and oil-based finishes, using roll
This course was a great opportunity for contractors to refine their technique, learn new approaches, and walk away with greater confidence in their craft. A huge thank you goes out to all of the vendors who made this event possible, including:
