Despite their differences in size, every Festool dust extractor model has a few very important things in common.

“Best in class” suction

Of course, anyone who invests in a Festool dust extractor is interested in its ability to contain dust and particles. Debris control on the jobsite is crucial, so you have to be sure that the vacuum you select is capable of sucking up all of the dust created during the sanding process.

All of the Festool CT models contain a HEPA filtration system, which means that they filter out 99.97 of the smallest particles from the air passing through them. This leaves less dust on the floor and in your lungs. What’s more, the suction system’s lack of bypass leakage means that the machines comply with U.S. EPA lead-based paint regulations.

If you use one of these dust extractors with a Festool palm sander like the Rotex RO 90 DX, which is engineered to minimize dust buildup, you can create a virtually dustless floor sanding system.

Compatibility and convenience

You can attach an orbital sander or buffer straight to the body of a Festool CT dust extractor with the 11-1/2’ anti-static suction hose that comes with every model.

The tool trigger startup system turns the extractor on and off with your sander so all dust is cleared from the line immediately. You’ll spend less time cleaning up jobsites by eliminating dust and problematic particles right at the source.

The self-cleaning filter bag featured in all of the models prevents dust buildup on the bottom of the machine, preserving its full suction power and protecting the longevity of its motor.

Festool offers a number of accessories to make the extractors compatible with virtually any job. You can purchase wands, brushes, crevice tools, and wands, as well as adapters for the hose so it can fit equipment from other manufacturers.

You can also purchase cleaning sets for the extractors.

All of the models feature variable suction, which allows you to alter the suction speed. This capability is crucial to preventing the sander from vibrating excessively with the vacuum and creating swirl marks in the floor.

The machines also feature non-marking caster wheels for easy transportation and disposal of its contents. When you’re not transporting the machine, you can lock the wheels so it stays in place.
