From April 25-27 we will hold an NWFA Intermediate Installation Training at our headquarters in King of Prussia, PA! This class can help you take your skills and your career to the next level. Seating is limited – click here to register today.
This hands-on class will help you sharpen your installation skills. You will learn different installation techniques, safety measures, and floor repairs. You will also learn how to incorporate simple design elements into your flooring while implementing a variety of installation methods.
You will learn how to install both unfinished and prefinished solid and engineered wood floors, and will handle nail-down, glue-down, and floating floors.
There are a few requirements in order to attend this class. You must have one year of installing wood floors or successful completion of the basic installation school.
Students who complete this course will earn three continuing certification units.
Installation Certification Testing will be available Friday, April 28 at City Floor Supply so you will have a chance to become a Certified Installer by the NWFA.
Prerequisite to test:
- Minimum of 3 years experience in wood flooring installation
- Successful completion of Intermediate, Advanced or Expert level Installation Training or NWFA Installation Certification School or approved manufacturer school
- NWFA member in good standing
To earn Certified Installer status, you must pass NWFA University courses online and a hands-on/skills test.The written test must be successfully completed before taking the hands-on test.
The hands-on test is designed to demonstrate technical mastery of the following wood flooring installation skills:
- Engineered wood floor glue-down over concrete sub-floor
- Solid wood nail-down on wood sub-floor
- Dry lay herringbone installation
- Replace a board in existing floor
- Install floating floor over concrete slab
