The driftwood lye pretreatment by WOCA is perfect for creating a weather-worn look in white oak hardwood floors.
The weather-worn look is very popular right now. You can apply it to a floor in a variety of situations––a floor in a kitchen, a beach house––anywhere you see fit.
WOCA Driftwood Lye gives the wood a weather-beaten patina, making the wood look as if it were exposed to the elements for several years. This product is designed primarily for use with white oak floors. This pretreatment can help you achieve a rustic, relaxed atmosphere in the given room.

How to apply a pretreatment to a hardwood floor
The first step in a successful application is to make sure the floor is appropriately sanded down and clean of all dust and debris.
Then, apply the pretreatment lengthwise along the grain using a flat applicator pad, natural bristle brush, or ⅜ snap roller. You’ll want to be sure the floor is saturated and completely covered by the pretreatment. This will allow for as much reaction with the wood’s extractive as possible. Let it dry for 15 minutes before buffing the floor with a maroon or green pad.
Remove any excess oil with a white pad wrapped in a terry towel, buff the floor with a white pad, and then wait 24 hours before applying the second coat of oil.
