That’s why we are very proud to have a Forest Stewardship Council™ (FSC) Chain of Custody certification from SCS Global Services, one of the world’s leading FSC certifiers. The FSC is an organization whose purpose is to allow forests to be harvested in a way that benefits businesses in need of hardwood all the while ensuring the forests are not destroyed for future generations.

The Chain-of-Custody program extensively covers the journey of wood from when it is cut down in a forest to when it is sitting in a distribution center waiting to be purchased by customers. Along each step in this journey, all the businesses involved must properly document and catalog the wood in their possession. This Chain-of-Custody not only benefits the environment, but it is intended to give customers piece of mind that the wood they are purchasing has been harvested legally and ethically.

That means when you buy hardwood flooring from the Philly Floor Store that is advertised as being FSC Certified, you will know that the wood has come from an environmentally controlled forest. We carry many FSC-Certified hardwood flooring species including Maple, Tigerwood, Yellow Birch, Hickory, Cumaru, Jatoba, Walnut, Santos Mahogany, Cherry, White Oak, and Red Oak.
