One of the key features to this buffer is its low profile. This low profile will allow you to get the buffer under cabinets, islands, toekicks, and other tight spots. There is an onboard LED light to illuminate the shadows under these areas as well.
Attached to the buffer is an innovative dust skirt. Other dust skirts float on the perimeter of the buffer or clamp on with hose style clamps. The FlexiSand’s dust skirt is fitted in the rubber bumper of the buffer. The dust skirt has special corded string that fits into a groove on the rubber bumper. When the FlexiSand is not in use the dust skirt can be pushed away so it will not be damaged. While the buffer is in use the dust skirt makes contact with the floor and creates a seal for the dust collection system.
The FlexiSand DCS has been designed with dust collection in mind. When using the buffer at the 6 o’clock position you will have the most success with dust collection. If you’re using a standard 16″ block there will be a 3/8″ gap between the driving block and the dust skirt. This is where the majority of the dust collection happens. When you attach a dust collection system to the auxiliary wiring of this buffer, for example a backpack vacuum, the vacuum will not turn on until the buffer does.
This buffer will drive the Bona Multidisc drive plate. This is a unique drive plate that has six 5″ discs that spin independently of each other. This multidisc drive plate helps create an incredibly smooth surface. It eliminates nearly all swirls and scratches on the floor.
Other features of the FlexiSand DCS are large, non-marking wheels. These wheels stay up and out of the way while the buffer is in use. When not in use, the wheels are large enough to completely clear the buffer off the floor. The material of the wheels will not damage or mark the floor. The handle on this buffer is easy to adjust for individual users’ needs. One press of a button and the handle will hydraulically adjust to the needed height.
